#1 – Use Travel Points
If you collect travel points that you usually redeem for flights, it may be a long time before you take advantage of this benefit. With all your online shopping, those points could really rack up! Use your points sooner by using them for hotel accommodations. Even if you don’t use the points, your reward program could find a better deal for a hotel so it doesn’t hurt to see what price they can get for you.
#2 – Plan For Food
Pack your food and drinks in your cooler. Consider the timeline for your day or weekend and pack some food and snacks in a cooler. Keep a blanket or a couple towels in your trunk so that you can have a popup picnic anywhere.
#3 – Fuel Up Mid-Week
Filling up your vehicle in the Vancouver area is like timing the stock market. Prices tend to rise in the morning and on weekends so fill up mid-week in the evening. If you are traveling outside of the lower mainland, fuel prices are higher within the TransLink fuel tax area, which includes Lion’s Bay to the north and Langley to the east.
